CIO of BEA to Bring Experience and Insight to Valaran BOD

PRINCETON, N.J. August 24, 2004 -- Valaran Corporation, a provider of light weight web services ready middleware that enables a plug and play experience for networked applications, announced today that Rhonda Hocker, senior vice president and chief information officer (CIO) of BEA Systems, Inc., has joined Valaran's Board of Directors. Rhonda brings to Valaran a strong background in information technology and global supply chain management. BEA Systems is a leading enterprise applications infrastructure software company.

Prior to joining BEA, Ms. Hocker was vice president of ERP implementation and supply chain reengineering at Agilent Technologies, Inc. She also worked at Hewlett-Packard for 18 years where she held several management roles within information technology management, high technology manufacturing and distribution and personal computer supply chain management.
