High-profile Industry Veteran Joins TradeCard's Executive
Team
Appointment follows record first quarter results
New York, April 27, 2005 - TradeCard Inc., the leading
provider of on-demand financial supply chain solutions, named Marshall
Gordon senior vice president, worldwide sales and marketing. Gordon
joins TradeCard from SAP (NYSE: SAP), where he most recently served
as Industry Executive for Retail, Apparel and Footwear. Taylor Winfield,
Inc. conducted the search.
Gordon's appointment follows TradeCard's announcement of record first
quarter performance, including all-time highs for quarterly revenue
and transaction volume. The strong results build upon two consecutive
years of more than 100 percent year-over-year revenue growth.
" Marshall understands our momentum is based on tangible business
benefit we deliver customers," says Kurt Cavano, TradeCard's chairman
and chief executive officer. "He's spent years in the markets we serve
- both as practitioner and valued advisor. Together with his expertise
in building solution-oriented businesses, this background makes him
the ideal person to lead and grow our sales team. Having him on board
will take us to the next level."
TradeCard's nearly 1,000 customers are located in 50 countries. The
company improves profitability of trade for a global supply chain's
entire ecosystem - from retailers, brands, and manufacturers to financial
institutions, inspection agencies, and logistics providers. Rather
than shifting costs, the TradeCard platform eliminates costs.
With nearly two decades of supply chain experience, Gordon complements
TradeCard's senior management team, which includes veterans from trade
finance, banking and credit, technology, and consulting.
"Joining the company was a rare opportunity to lead a growing sales
team delivering near immediate business value," says Gordon. "By synchronizing
the financial supply chain with the more often targeted physical supply
chain, TradeCard enables full benefit of initiatives requiring cash
flow, credit and transaction efficiency. This is especially valuable
today as brand consolidation and supply chain rationalization require
increased CFO and chief supply chain officer collaboration."
During his seven-year tenure with SAP, Gordon led a team that won
dominant market share in the retail, apparel and footwear verticals,
garnering seven of the 10 industry leaders as customers. He previously
served as a principal with Textile Consulting Group, providing strategic
guidance to manufacturers transitioning to global sourcing. Prior,
Gordon was vice president, manufacturing and sourcing for Crystal Mills,
a private label manufacturer serving many of the top specialty retailers.
