George Laplante Joins Santur as Chief Financial Officer

FREMONT, CA – March 22, 2007 – Santur Corporation, the leading manufacturer of reliable tunable transmitters for the global telecommunications industry, today announced the appointment of George Laplante as CFO. George is an industry veteran with over 25 years of financial leadership experience, and his expertise in successfully linking accounting and finance to business operations has driven organizational development and earnings growth in several multi-million dollar firms. Prior to his current appointment as CFO of Santur, George was CFO at 2Wire and CFO and then president of London’s Action Computer Supplies Holdings PLC, the third largest computer product reseller in the UK. George facilitated the development of financing and growth strategies and took the company public in 1996. He proceeded to lead Action through explosive growth, generating over $500 million in annual sales over the Internet. George has also held executive positions at ACS Distribution, Inc., Molecular Computer, and TeleVideo Systems Inc. He earned his MBA in accountancy from Bowling Green State University and his BA in economics from Southern Connecticut State College. George is also a certified public accountant.
