InMage Appoints John Ferrari as CEO to Lead Company's Growth in Multi-Billion Dollar Market for Disaster Recovery Solutions

Experienced, Sales-Driven CEO Brings Impressive Track Record of Results from Enterprise Software Leaders Legato, CA, and SeeCommerce

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – July 31, 2006 – InMage Systems, the pioneer in event-based continuous data protection (CDP) for the enterprise, today announced that John Ferraro has joined the company as CEO. Ferraro will leverage his nearly 20 years in enterprise software — a majority of which has been in the storage industry — to expand industry partnerships and sales of the InMage DR-Scout™ solution for disaster recovery and branch office consolidation.  The search was conducted by Taylor Winfield, Inc.

“We’ve invested considerable time and money to develop a proven solution that makes it easier and more affordable for enterprise customers to protect their data and consolidate it from remote offices,” said Kumar Malavalli, chairman of InMage. “With John’s proven experience in building and leading enterprise software companies, he is the right person for the job as the company enters its next stage of growth.”

Before joining InMage, John Ferraro was CEO of SeeCommerce, which he repositioned to focus on retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG). The company was subsequently sold to its strategic partner, NCR/Teradata. Ferraro was also executive vice president for worldwide sales at Legato, where he increased sales by nearly 200 percent during his tenure in that position. Prior to Legato, he served as regional vice president at CA, where he led various direct and channels sales teams.

“It’s an exciting time to be at InMage. Factors such as business continuity, disaster recovery, and branch office consolidation have created a multi-billion dollar a year market for our software solutions,” said John Ferraro, the new CEO at InMage. “I am very excited at the opportunity to lead this company as we pursue a rapidly expanding market opportunity.”

“InMage has built a solid product offering, tested it with customers, and is now ready to really grow the business,” said Brad O’Neill, vice president, Taneja Group. “The company is doing things right. Adding John’s expertise in growing software companies is the next logical move as the company looks to secure more strategic partnership deals and grow its revenue through direct and indirect channels.”

About the DR-Scout Product Suite
The DR-Scout solutions follow a very innovative yet pragmatic architecture oriented from day one toward solving end user pain in implementing disaster recovery and backup or branch office consolidation solutions. DR-Scout augments all the advantages of host-based approaches, such as cost, heterogeneity, ease of deployment, and maintenance, with the ability to centrally manage, compress and encrypt data without impacting production. Another advantage of DR-Scout based solutions is their deployment flexibility. For example, requiring appliance hardware on secondary sites might not be desirable, especially when there are hundreds of branch offices. DR-Scout based solutions have the flexibility to use all the advantages of the appliance-based approach on the primary site while resorting to pure software deployments on the secondary sites.

DR-Scout based solutions are perfect for any sized environment involving applications such as email, databases, and unstructured files, and are ideally suited for implementing consolidated remote replication and continuous backup based on CDP technology.
