RapidMind Appoints Silicon Valley Entrepreneur to Senior Executive Team

WATERLOO, ONTARIO — October 8, 2008 — RapidMind Inc., makers of the RapidMind Multi-core Development Platform, today announced the appointment of industry veteran David Port to the senior management team as vice president of business development. The search was conducted by Taylor Winfield, Inc.

David Port has spent his 25-year career establishing a strong track record of monetizing strategic alliances and channel relationships with industry leaders such as SAP, Unisys, Cisco and IBM. As a founding executive member of several start-up technology companies, he has built a reputation for delivering year-over-year revenue growth and surpassing sales goals. In senior executives roles, Mr. Port has steered two start-ups through an IPO with Callidus Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: CALD), and successful acquisition of Blaze Software by Fair Isaac.

Along with his experience guiding start-up technology companies, he has worked at Sun Microsystems, and is well versed in the telecommunications, financial services, and information technology industries.

From the RapidMind office in Palo Alto, California, David will be responsible for expanding existing strategic partnerships with AMD, HP and IBM, developing new channel relationships and building out OEM, SI and VAR relationships.
